Love And Care For Every Stray (LACES) : Furry Kids from Bandar Manjalara With Demodex Mange
In late September, 4 stray puppies were spotted in one of the public parks at Bandar Manjalara, Selangor and were humanely rescued. The puppies were about 3 to 4 months old with 3 of them were female and a sole male pup.The 4 puppies were immediately transferred to the vet clinic for necessary medical check up.
Under the LACES program, participates are required to arrange for the rescued animals to be sent to the vet clinic before ferrying the rescued animals to the farm as well as raise funds for all the medical fees which include, vaccination, de-worming, heartworm prevention and neutering. An upkeep of RM1 Per day per dog/puppy is compulsory for all rescued strays to stay at the farm.
In this case, the puppies are all treated for skin infection. Due to the puppies premature immune system, they were infected with the most common form of mange known as Demodectic (Demodex) Mange. It is a parasitic skin disease caused by microscopic mites.
Here we can see how serious the male puppy with Demodex is. He has been named Demo .
