4th Anniversary & World Animal Day 2010 Celebration

It was a wonderful start to a very special day, filled with much joy and fun, on the morning of 3^rd October 2010 at Furry Friends Farm, Malaysia. Even the drizzle could not dampen the spirit of the World Animal Day celebration at the farm! Together with all the rescued stray dogs and cats, the celebration started off with our Most Charming Duet from 2 very special and talented furkids, an 8 year-old, blackish brown, female Daschund crossbreed named Fifi, with her daughter, Fanny, gleefully performed their self composed HAPPY WORLD ANIMAL DAY song in FF Major and Minor keys!  It was really fascinating to capture these 2 talented furkids, marking the World Animal Day Celebration at the farm!

In a special tribute to mark the 1-year passing of Hitam, the Most Courageous dog in Malaysia, a YouTube video was presented with the memories of this special dog. As a stray dog that was ferried by the Pulau Ketam residents and left abandoned in a mangrove island in May 2009, Hitam became a hero, using his instincts to help save his other fellow furkids that were left stranded in the same mangrove island. The Bravest Dog in Malaysia, indeed, to be honoured and remembered forever.

Prior to World Animal Day 2010, Furry Friends Farm gratefully received more than 200 cartons of cat food pouches from Whiskas Malaysia. It was a Blessing to the felines at our cattery during the celebration as they enjoyed the delicious food donated. One of the prettiest female cats, Creamy couldn’t wait to pose beside and guarded the cartons of Whiskas cat food before the party began.

Added to the joy of the celebration, Age D’or of Petcurean Malaysia, successfully raised more than 30 bags of Holistic Dog and Cat food for the Animals at Furry Friends Farm on this Special Day. We are extremely thankful to Age D’or and Whiskas Malaysia for supporting and successfully carried out our Pet Food Donation Campaign.

With visitors and supporters graced the special day with delicious home-made cooked food and kibbles for the furkids to enjoy, we could see how excitedly the furkids enjoyed the lovely gift of yummy food provided!  The canine furkids enjoyed to the fullest with the dog food sent in by volunteers and visitors on that day.  The furkids were seen happily munching the dog food placed in yellow containers, all lined up for their enjoyment. Volunteers were more than happier on the World Animal Day to prepare the yummy food for the furry kids at the cattery too.

This year Furry Friends Farm celebrates our 4^th Anniversary! Yes, we have successfully walked through the 4th year despite all the difficulties encountered along our tough journey in setting up a sanctuary for the stray dogs and cats in Selangor, Malaysia. Furry Friends Farm aims to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home and to give the strays A Second Chance to Live. Our aims which include the upgrade of the status of strays and to educate the members of the public were highlighted through our Buntings; four beautifully designed and illustrated Ambassadors Posters by our dedicated volunteer, KC Yap.

Last but not least, a shout out of THANKS to all supporters ! The printing for all the buntings for Furry Friends Farm was kindly contributed by Design and Printing Services. And the World Animal Day 2010 celebration was added with cheer with the special contribution from the Hilton Hotel, Kuala Lumpur with an Anniversary cake presented to celebrate the Furry Friends Farm's 4th Anniversary. And many special thanks to Whiskas Malaysia and Age D’or of Petcurean Malaysia for their support.

Red Tomato's Pets Fun Day

Pets Fun Day was held on 13th December 2009 at Central Park, Bandar Utama.

Many guests accompanied with their pets joined in the fun and lively event. There was a Dr. Dog presentation and speech given by Sabrina at the event. Jewel and Kuning was there to grace Furry Friends Farm booth as well !

Furry Friends Farm would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to the organizer, Red Tomato, for inviting us to the event and for their pet food contribution for the furry kids at the farm. THANK YOU to all who contributed pet food and other contribution to us, the furry kids at the Furry Friends Farm and to all who volunteered with us.
